She strikes
Against this morning mountain
            this pale peak
(You turn to speak)

She welcomes
This webbed well wisher
This king kastle
(Your hastle)

She turns to amped aversion
               to battered brown-

(She turns around.)

Author's Comments

This one's a poem for a woman I've only met a few times, but felt some connection with. Like I'd be her in a few years- if I played my cards the same. It's about the resilient nature and successful struggle in adversity which all living things undergo- namely humans- namely women but you can read it in any context of course.

I love this one.

Extremely powerful impact from the beginning that slowly lets the reader go as it is read completely.
