 Gertrude Stein was experimenting with a new form of writing. This new form was influenced by visual arts, and explored the philosophical. The new form included many touchstone themes of modernism. Within this new form of writing Stein used repetition and imagery. She left out a lot of punctuation and favored the present tense “ing”. She was hea On G. Stein

She pulls me in wondering  Punches my soft shoulder  in a rush past Everyday  Stringed electricity  Busts down my limb  Carves the pieces of my opposeable thumb  And I can't climb any further  And I rely on her to spark

Hit the DeckI remember when this maple was a seedling in the yard  Now the branches have multiplied into thick groupings  
reaching for sun  Groping roots through its earthen home  
 
A horseflys been hitching a ride in my hair for who knows how long  
 
A mourning dove sounds to my right   
Passengers always seem to go too fast down this stretch of highway They barrel short sighted    long hard into the next destination  The next job  The next country

scarf weather again

So it's scarf weather again around here. I'm back up north and I can feel it in my bones again. I miss Halifax and I'm mostly just working my way through here til I can return to the city, maybe another transfer is in order."Oh, what would they say?" Permiates my conscience but can I afford to let every opportunity for my own happiness slip by just to ease a few minds for a while? Most of the friends I've made here are gone or we've forgotten each other. Some straggling acquaintance and one girl friend and one ex family is what I've got here in terms of relations. Lately though it's suiting me. The more detached the better. I've just discovered Kaki King: Fuckin amazing
